UHAS Basic School held its 4th Graduation and Awards Ceremony

The University Basic School (U.B.S.) held its 4th graduation and awards ceremony today to promote their Kindergarten Two (KG2) and Basic Nine(B9) learners to the next phase of their academic journey. In total, 25 and 18 learners graduated from KG2 and Basic 9, respectively.

Dr. Humphrey K. Ayim-Darke, President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), giving the keynote address, underscored the essence of a graduation ceremony as it “signifies the end of a journey and the beginning of another."

Speaking on the theme “Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders Today”, he said Education can nurture their minds and spirits while giving them an anchor for the future. He added that it equips them with the requisite values, skills, and mindset to navigate the ever-changing world.

Dr. Ayim-Darke noted that the right education equips individuals to take up leadership roles and drive the change society wants to see. He admonished that as leadership starts with self-awareness, parents, guardians, and teachers must help learners to reach their full potential.

The Chairperson for the ceremony, the Director of the Institute of Traditional and Alternate Medicine, UHAS, Professor Kwame B. N. Banga, congratulated the graduating classes and entreated them to be good ambassadors of U.B.S.
At the end of the ceremony, learners and teachers who excelled during the 2023/2024 academic year were duly recognized and awarded.

The colorful ceremony was attended by parents/guardians of graduating learners and a number of invited guests. The Vice Chancellor of UHAS, Prof. Lydia Aziato, the Registrar, Ms. Yaa Amankwaa Opuni, and other officials of the University were also present.

The gathering enjoyed spectacular literary, cultural, and choreographic performances from the learners.
