UHAS outdoors new ceremonial uniform for Security Personnel

As part of the values and ethos; excellence, innovation, integrity, service and care of University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), management has acknowledged and appreciated the role and responsibilities of the Security Unit with the procurement of a new set of ceremonial uniform.
Speaking at a ceremony to outdoor the newly procured uniforms, Vice Chancellor, Professor Lydia Aziato in her address said “a new uniform means a new image, a new identity, a new acknowledgement, motivation and recognition.” “Therefore, once your presence and contributions as members of the University community is highly acknowledged, you have a responsibility to continue to commit to service and deliver on your mandate to the University.”
Professor Aziato also charged the security personnel to professionally discharge their duties in line with the various security protocols, maintain good relationships with all stakeholders and provide timely information to the appropriate authorities in the University. 
She also acknowledged the Directorate of Works and Physical Development Directorate who made the call to management for this initiative. 
The Registrar, Ms. Yaa Amankwaa Opuni stated that "as management, we deem it necessary for the security personnel to wear this uniform during official functions of the University. As we dedicate this uniform today, it is a reminder for your call to duty and the ethical principles you should demonstrate in your line of duty. Because without you, our property, staff and resources are exposed.” 
On behalf of the Director of Works and Physical Development, Mr. Kenneth Tsinyo indicated that the Security Unit under the directorate has seen a lot of development since its inception in 2012 with 12 personnel which has increased over the years to 135 who man the various posts across all campuses and properties of the University. He also appreciated management for the acquisition of all uniforms and accessories for the security unit. 
Mr. Tsinyo also applauded management for its dedication to the Security Unit by enhancing their professional image as the first point of contact for guests as they guard and defend the University. “This special uniform will serve as a reminder of the honor done to the security personnel of the University. We therefore look forward to continue this journey together with a renewed pride and sense of unity.” 
The security personnel exhibited some route marches and drills display as part of the ceremony.  
In attendance were Deans and Directors, Chief Security Officer and other staff of the University.
