Bono and Ahafo prilas organises cooking contest.

The Prison Ladies Association (PRILAS) on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 organized a cooking competition at the Sunyani Central Prison canteen for its members in the Bono and Ahafo regions to test their culinary skills.
The contestants were drawn from Duayaw Nkwanta Camp prison, Kenyasi Camp prison, Sunyani Central Prison and Sunyani Female Prison.
Four contestants represented each of the four prison establishments with two hours given to contestants to prepare a meal worthy of winning the contest.
At the end of the competition, representatives of Duayaw Nkwanta Camp Prison who prepared Tuo Zaafi were adjudged winners.
Contestants from Sunyani Female Prison who prepared fufu with light soup took the second place while the third position went to representatives from Sunyani Central Prison who prepared jollof rice, salad meal with chicken. The fourth position went to representatives of Kenyasi Camp Prison who prepared ampesi with palava sauce.
A little spice in the form of other activities such as musical chairs, dancing and jama competitions were held to entertain participants.The Regional President of Prilas , Chief Superintendent (CSP.)Mary Asante Sarfo (Mrs.) who is also the Officer-In-Charge of the Sunyani Female Prison in her address commended all the contestants for their efforts in making the cooking contest a success. She went on to admonish members to be more committed to activities of the association.
Present at the ceremony were the Regional Commander Deputy Director of Prisons(DDP.) Williams Kulah and his Second in Command (2IC) Assistant Director of Prisons (ADP.) Foster Appiah.
