In a swift response to a distress call at 0454 am on December 15, 2023, the Suhum Fire Station dispatched a dedicated crew led by ADO II Dziworshie Prosper to a harrowing accident scene at Amanase-Budu on the Accra-Kumasi highway where 14 injured victims were rescued. The accident involved a VIP Bus (KK 5 -20) and a HOWO truck (GN 4971 -21), both headed towards Accra from Kumasi.
Arriving promptly at 0505 am, the Fire Rescuers discovered a reported trapped passenger in the VIP Bus and 14 casualties with varying injuries. With precision and efficiency, the rescue team extricated and evacuated the lifeless body of the trapped passenger for the Police. They then rescued the 14 injured passengers and handed them over to the Suhum Ambulance Service, ensuring their swift transfer to the Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident occurred due to the VIP bus driver's high speed, colliding with the Howo truck that was making a right turn. Remarkably, the Howo truck driver and mate emerged uninjured. Kudos đđŊđđŊ to the Suhum Fire Station crew for their timely and heroic intervention, saving lives in the aftermath of this ghastly accident. #FirstResponderHeroes #SuhumFireRescue đđ¨đ
