C/R: ICGC School and Church saved from total fire destruction at Dunkwa Soro.

The Dunkwa-On-Offin Fire Station in the Upper Denkyira West Municipality of the Central Region, at 2016 hours, responded to a distress call at the premises of International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) to save a fire situation. 

The crew led by ADO I Stephen Gyesi arrived at the scene at exactly 2020 hours and observed that fire had engulfed the first floor of a one-story building made of wood and was fast spreading. The tactical men quickly prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining buildings and fiercely fought it to bring it under control at 0306 hours, and finally extinguished it at 0340 hours.

 

The fire caused damage to ten rooms of the building that was used as a school, and the ground floor as a church was burnt but managed to save six rooms, including an adjacent one-storey building. A fireman and an Immigration Officer who got injured in the process were sent to the hospital, treated, and discharged. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
