Assin Akropong: Kennedy Agyapong cut sod for the construction of 18- unit classroom block.


The Member of Parliament, for Assin Central Constituency who doubles as the Board Member for Ghana Gas Company, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has today cut sod for construction of 18- unit classroom Block for the proposed Akotiman Senior High School, at Assin Akropong in the Assin Fosu Municipality.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong addressing a durbar of chiefs and elders of Akropong said, the vision of building a secondary school at Akropong was motivated after a lady with 7As was rejected by Aggrey Memorial SHS. He said the lady performed marvelously in the school which implies that, if children in the rural areas are given equal opportunities like those in the urban areas they can equally perform academically. "We will make sure everyone benefits from the free Senior High School policy by the government. The project has been handled over to FLB Properties Limited and is expected to be completed within 6 months of commencement of the project. 

The General Secretary of governing NPP party, Mr. John Boadu who was present at the sod-cutting ceremony thanked the people of Assin Akropong and its environs for massively voting for Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo.

 He said his government will also do everything within their power to bring development to Assin Akropong and it surrounding communities.

      
The Abusuapanin of Assin Akropong, Nana Samuel Francis Acquah on behalf of the chiefs said they owe Hon. Kennedy Agyapong thanksgiving for the numerous developmental projects he has done for them. He made mention of building of clinic, market, potable drinking water, construction of their road and giving of GHS 200 to women in the community to augment their trading capital. 

Some parents and guardian at the gathering expressed their glee and requested for more of such projects as it face-lifts the Community and the Municipality by far extension
