What is a VGA?
Wednesday, September 7, 2022
The great-granddad of video outputs, VGA (video graphics array) dates back to 1987 but is still commonplace on many monitors and projectors today. However, because the 15-pin connector is rather chunky, you won’t find too many current-gen laptops or desktops with VGA-out. It is an analog connection, which could lead to signal degradation over longer cables, and it outputs at only up to 1920 x 1200, so it’s the least desirable port.
