Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong launches 175th anniversary celebration

The 175th anniversary celebration of the Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong Akuapem in the Eastern Region has been launched with a public lecture dubbed; Heritage Lecture Series. It was under the theme: Our heritage; an anchor for growth and national development. 
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt Rev Prof Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante who was the guest of honour in an address, called on all stakeholders to uphold the core values of the school. These, he said, were discipline, integrity, perseverance, sacrifice, hard work, good manners and excellence.
The Moderator who was one time the chairperson of the College Council said he was proud that the college was established by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to be committed to discipline and standing for integrity hence would not subscribe to any negative actions.

“It is heartwarming that despite the fact that many of the old students come from humble backgrounds, they persevered to come up tops in every area of their lives”.
Rt Rev Prof. Mante who is also the Chancellor of the Presbyterian University, Ghana advised students, tutors and parents to sacrifice in order to bring out the best in them at all times so that the school would continue to become the preferred choice by potential students.

The Chairperson of the College Council, Dr Esther Offei Aboagye expressed her joy at how far the school had come and its progress in academic work and infrastructure.  
Rev Emmanuel Y. Omenako, former Principal of the Kyebi Presbyterian College of Education paid tribute to the founding fathers of the college and all those who have contributed to the success story of the college.
The Principal of the college, Rev Dr Nicholas Apreh Siaw assured that everything possible would be done to maintain the high integrity of the school.
He said the heritage lecture was to commemorate the founding fathers of the college and the legacy they bequeathed to them.
The Moderator later dedicated some completed projects in the college which included a refurbished of the old assembly hall, the college clinic and the main entrance gate.
