MP for Keta makes U-turn on campaign promises.

The Member of Parliament for Keta Constituency, Hon Dzudzorli Gakpey has yesterday made a u-turn on his campaign promises made to the NDC delegates and the good people of Keta in the lead up to the NDC's 2019 MP's primaries both on the campaign grounds and the Keta based Jubilee FM.

In an interview granted to the Keta-based Sand City radio yesterday, the Keta legislator denied ever making categorical promises to the NDC delegates and by extension, the good people of Keta. He asserted that the promises he made, particularly on Jubilee FM, four days to the primaries election, were all ideas he sold out to the NDC delegates and the good people Keta, of which he expected them to adopt and practicalise on their own. He further stated that it is not everything that his constituents should expect from him as a member of parliament.

When confronted with some of his promises on tape, Hon. Gakpey further insisted that, the tenure of his mandate as an MP is four years, and nobody should coerce him to account for his stewardship within two years into his administration.

Amongst the numerous juicy promises made by Hon. Gakpey which he emphatically gave assurances and timeline to, include buying of 40 taxi cabs to the branch members who desire to work and pay for the vehicles, the establishment of lemon grass factory for processing lemon grass into lemon tea bags at Shime area in his constituency, sweet potato farms and processing of the sweet potato into various products such as sweet potato chips and sweet potato powder, the establishment of a processing center at Keta where there would be modern ovens for fishmongers by the use of solar power, etc. These, he said, he would do as soon as voted as the parliamentary candidate for the Keta Constituency.

Hon. Dzudzorli Gakpey however disowned all the earlier promises made to the NDC delegates and the good people of Keta; said he only made those ideas known hoping that the NDC would win the 2020 election to enable him assist his constituents in actualizing them.
Some constituents in Keta in recent times were on the heels of the Member of Parliament for Keta, Hon Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpe to fulfill the promises he made to his constituents with timeline.
