Kokofu Community ICT Centre Commissioned

The Deputy Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Hon. Ama Pomaa Boateng, has commissioned the newly-built Community ICT Centre (CIC) at Kokofu in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region. 

The establishment of the CIC forms part of GIFEC’s Cyberlabs Programme, which is geared at providing unserved and underserved communities and institutions with ICT equipment. 

30 new CICs have been established across the country to increase access to ICT equipment and services to unserved and underserved communities.

The Centres function as information hubs, providing connectivity to private businesses, educational institutions and individuals in rural communities. The CICs additionally have been designated to serve as a hub for various ICT Capacity Building Programmes of GIFEC.
