Police To Investigate Murder Incident In Afadzato South District.

Police in the Volta Region have commenced investigation into a murder incident which occured today August 14, 2022 at Ve-Koloenu in the Afadzato South District.
Preliminary investigation disclosed that the deceased, (Identity not yet confirmed), was allegedly stranded or choked to death by unknown assailants.
According to reports, the deceased was killed elsewhere but her body was hanged on the branch of a tree infront of the dining hall of Ve Senior High School at Ve-Koloenu.
Students who came across the body said the deceased was hanged with sponge around her neck in a suicide position but her knee was touching the ground, indicating that she did not commit suicide.
The deceased is believed to have been receiving spiritual treatment at the God is King Prayer Centre in Koloenu since she was suffering from mental illness.
She's alleged to have left the prayer camp since yesterday.
The deceased is believed to be between the ages of 25-30.
The body has since been deposited at the Hohoe Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The Assistant Superintendent of Police in the Afdzato South District, ASP Alex Cosmos in an interview with Lukusi Radio confirmed the incident.
ASP Alex Cosmos has thus urged the public to remain calm as investigation continues to get to the core of the issue and get the perpetrators arrested to face justice.
Meanwhile, we're yet to identify and have words from the deceased's family.
