As part of the quest to fulfilling the ecumenical demand to promoting unity among world’s Christian Churches, the National President, Mr Ezekiel Teye Nartey Adjorlolo and General Secretary, Francis Frimpong of the Young People’s Guild (YPG) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana visited and shared a spiritual fellowship with the Connexional Youth Development Ministry (YDM) of the Methodist Church Ghana during their 18th Biennial Youth and Students Assembly (YASA).
The YASA was hosted at the Pentecost Convention Centre — Gomoah Fetteh from 14th - 17th July, 2022. The Assembly compromised of about 1500 participants drawn from all 20 Dioceses in Ghana, 1 Diocese in the North America Mission, and some international participants.
The representatives from the YPG of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana remarked that the Methodist Youth and Students are wonderful people just like the Youth and Students of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
In addressing the Assembly, the representatives of the YPG conveyed a solidarity message from the whole PCG fraternity encouraging the youth and students to continually SAY NO TO UNGODLINESS just like the YDM greetings puts it right — taking note of what Apostle Paul wrote that, “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” - 1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV
Participants of the Assembly were further encouraged to be sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit in order not to be overtaken by youthful temptations.
The Director of the YDM expressed so much appreciation and remarked that this is the first time a group in a sister Church has visited them in their Youth and Students Assemblies.
Meanwhile the Methodists and all who seek to uphold the principles of ecumenism are welcomed to the Presbyterian Youth and Students Assembly #PREYSA slated to come off from 29th September to 2nd October 2022 at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoah Fetteh.
