Oti Region: CHPS Compound commissioned at Ubonja.


The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Nkwanta North, Hon Kidignang Nawungma William has reiterated government's commitment to improve equity to access basic healthcare needs of Ghanaians in the Nkwanta North District.

The DCE said the government identified healthcare as paramount to the development and well-being of every District.

Hon William, said this when he was commissioning a Community based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Ubonja in the Nkwanta North District of the Oti Region .


He further disclosed that, within the coming days, the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's agenda 111 will provide advance district hospital for the district to boost their health care. 


The District Chief Executive therefore made a passionate appeal to the community members to own the facility and put it into good use to benefit generations yet unborn.


Communities to benefit from this CHPS Compound includes, Sibi no.1, Sibi no.2, Kpelkpelni, Challani, Lemina, Dagiakura, Lancha and some other five (5).

The District Director of Health Services,Dr. Jerry Swaniker , lauded the DCE, the Assembly and some opinion leaders of the town for the completion of the project.


He pointed out that the healthcare facility would go a long way to better the health care needs of the people and ready to carry the tasks ahead.
The Chief of Ubonja, Ubor Baba Kakaraka Satindo (ll) through his spokeperson Kakaraka Tameen thanked the DCE and the government for their intervention by upgrading the facility. He assured the nurses good security, safety and food staff's , adding that, the community will put up a temporary structure to serve as accomodation for them before the government comes to start it own.


He appeal to the DCE to provide them with electricity and also work on the roads connecting the communities to the health center.
