Africa Centre for Energy policy donates to RTI commission.



The Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), led by its Executive Director, Mr. Benjamin Boakye, yesterday, 8th July, 2022 presented electronic items to the Right to Information Commission (The Commission). 
The donated items amounted to about One Hundred and Eighty Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (¢185,000). The items comprised;Four (4) Printers,Two (2) Color Printers,Five (5) UPS, Three (3) Shredder,Three (3) Scanners,Seven (7) Desktop Computers,Seventeen (17) Laptops and Three (3) Photocopiers.
Presenting the items on behalf of ACEP, Mr. Benjamin Boakye admitted that they have so far seen the good work the Commission is doing, its proactiveness in engaging and educating the public on the Right to Information Law. He however noted with great concern that the Commission lacks the requisite tools needed to enhance its work. Mr. Boakye used the medium to call on government, public institutions, civil societies and individuals to support the Commission by providing financial and material support.
The Deputy Chairperson of the Commission, Mrs. Elizabeth Asare, in receiving the items on behalf of the Commission, expressed her joy to have stakeholders like ACEP who support the Commission. She mentioned that it was an indication the Commission was being embraced by society.
The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Yaw Sarpong Boateng Esq., in his remarks, thanked ACEP for their generous contribution and expressed gratitude for the support. He recognized that even though ACEP's primary focus is on the energy sector, they recognized the importance of the Commission and its work.
Present were the following Board Members of the Commission Nana Kwaku Duah, Dr. Edith Dankwa, Mrs. Victoria Susuawu, and some staff of the Commission.
