Director-General of Prisons pays courtesy call on National Chief Imam.


The Prisons Directorate, led by the Director-General of Prisons, Mr. Isaac Kofi Egyir, has paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, His Eminence, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharabutu at his residence in Fadama, Accra. 
The call which happens to be the first to the Chief Imam since Mr. Isaac Kofi Egyir assumed office as the Director-General of Prisons was to formerly introduce him to the Chief Imam as the new head of the Ghana Prisons Service and to ask for his blessings and Allah’s guidance to lead him and his lieutenants deliver effectively on the mandate of the Service.
Speaking during the visit today, the Director-General of Prisons expressed his appreciation to the Chief Imam for his prayers and advice when he was the Eastern Regional Prisons Commander. According to him, he was always guided by the advice and worked hard to advance in his career.
‘I could recall the exact advice and prophecy you gave me when I visited you some few years ago as the Eastern Regional Prisons Commander. I am here this afternoon to say thank you and Allah for making your prayers for me come to pass and also ask for your blessings in my new appointment’, Mr. Egyir said.
His Eminence, Dr. Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu commended the Director-General of Prisons and his team for their visit. He advised Mr. Isaac Egyir to always seek the face of Allah in all his endeavors. He also advised the Director-General of Prisons to collaborate with heads of other security agencies to promote and maintain the peace and stability of the country.
The Director-General of Prisons was accompanied by the Director of Prisons in charge of Welfare and Human Resource, Mr. Francis Omane Addo; the Director of Prisons in charge of Technical and Services, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie; The Chief Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Prisons (CSP) Courage Atsem, the Deputy Eastern Regional Chaplain, CSP Mukhtar Mohammed and Deputy Superintendent of Prisons Irene Pokuah Wiredu.
Also present were the Chief Protocol Officer to the Chief Imam, Alhaji Abdul Latif and some family members of the Chief Imam.
