VRA COMPLEX SCHOOL CLEANS UP WITH SUPPORT FROM AMC

In an attempt to still keep the Akosombo community neat and tidy, the Akosombo VRA No. 1 complex School organised a clean up exercise in the early hours of Friday, March 11, 2022, after DamCity TV had organized one, a week ago.
The Akosombo Management Committee (AMC), a subsidiary of the Volta River Authority supported the exercise with the provision of brooms, wheel barrows, rakes, dustbins and truck to dispose the refuse collected.

Harry Kpedekpo, spokesperson of the School in outlining the challenges they face, stated why the clean up.
"Some people in the neighborhood have made it a habit of throwing refuse and littering around the school pemises. I want to call on the authorities to take action, to help curb the menace. We're however not doing this exercise only because of that but as a public institution, it's very important to give back to the society as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility. As an institution, we can support the community, by cleaning."
To encourage healthy sanitation practices, the AMC donated 4 brand new Dustbin each to VRA Complex No. 1 and VRA Complex No. 2 and pledge to further support any sanitation exercise they want to undertake.
The school headmistress , Madam Esther Fanny Adofo and staff expressed appreciation to AMC, and Damcity Tv for participating in the cleanup exercise.
