He was an Educator, Theologian, Ethnolinguist, Translator and Philologist.

He was an advisor to the then Gold Coast Education Directorate on all problems connected with the Twi language -1930.

Twi examiner for Gold Coast Teachers Examinations as well as London and Cambridge oversees examinations.
His Twi kasa mmra: a Twi grammar book was the first instance of an African language being interpreted by an African scholar writing in his own language - 1937.

He revised the 1871 Twi Bible translated by Rev. Johann Gotlieb Christaller thus producing a modern Akuapem Twi Bible - 1965.

The Akrofi Christaller Institute at Akropong - Akuapem was named after Dr. Clement Akrofi and Johann Godtlieb Christaller.
The only Ghanaian to have his image on a non Circulatory Cedi. 
During his day of persons with disabilities celebration, the Ghanaian government issued a non circulatory golden 500 Cedis & silver 50 cedis coin bearing portrait of Dr. Clement Anderson Akrofi ( a person with disability) for being an inspiration to other persons with disabilities and his exceptional work for humanity as a whole, 1981.
