Adidome: MTN Ghana Foundation presents hampers to Christmas Babies.

The MTN Ghana Foundation has presented Christmas Baby Hampers to ten (10) babies delivered during this year’s Christmas period at a brief ceremony at the Adidome Government Hospital in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region.
The gesture did not only form part of the 25tn Anniversary celebration of the country’s giant Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN) but also a continuation of MTN’s nation-wide Special Babies Hamper project which has been on-going for the past one decade.
According to the Adidome Government Hospital authorities, four (4) babies, two (2) boys and two (2) girls were delivered on Christmas Day of Saturday, 25th December, 2021 while on Friday, 24th December, three (3) babies, two (2) boys and a girl were born. On Boxing Day of Sunday, 26th December which was the event day also saw three (3) delivery of babies, two (2) boys and one (1) girl bringing the total to ten (10) babies, six (6) boys and four (4) girls.
Each of the Baby Hampers contained items such as bed sheets, pampers, soaps, baby towels, welcome dress, napkins, powder and baby oil.
Head of Corporate Communications of MTN Ghana, Mrs. Georgina Asare-Fiagbenu led a five (5) member delegation of MTN staff to present the hampers to the Nurse Manager of the Hospital, Ms. Rejoice Adzah. Mrs. Asare-Fiagbenu in the company of the South Volta Territory Controller of MTN Ghana, Mr. Emmanuel Ako-Adjei also joined the Nurse Manager and other nurses on duty to present the hampers to the mothers of the ten (10) babies.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Asare-Fiagbenu said the gesture was to continue with what MTN Ghana Foundation has been noted for over the years. According to her, it was also to say ‘thank you’ to its huge customer clientele who had been loyal to the MTN brand and also supportive of their efforts as a Company over the years.
Receiving the donation, the Nurse Manager, Ms. Rejoice Adzah described the gesture as very encouraging, adding that Management, Staff and the Mothers were grateful to MTN Ghana Foundation for the selection of the facility for the donation which she described as the first of its kind in recent years.
The mothers of the babies our newsteam spoke to were not only excited and surprised but also described MTN’s support to the ordinary person including those in deprived areas as real. Misses Grace Hlornyeku, Ophelia Medor and Rita Seidu noted that the support was unexpected and a great dream come true.
As part of the event, the MTN team used the opportunity to carry out the on-going biometric sim-card registration for dozens of the hospital staff, the patients and their relatives as well as some members of the Adidome hospital community.
