Akatsi: Man, 19, arrested for robbery

The robbery incident occurred on Wednesday December 22, 2021 about 12:00 pm.
According to Inspector Prince Dogbatse of the Volta Regional Public Affairs Unit, suspect Godsway Sedofia hired the services of the Okada rider at the Akatsi market to transport him to Atidzive.
The Police source noted that, on reaching a section of the road at Dzrakate, the suspect ordered the Okada rider to stop and three (3) young men who had laid ambush in the nearby bush, one of whom was wielding a shotgun attacked and robbed the victim of the Haojue motorbike and its crush helmet.
Preliminary investigation led Police to the house of suspect Sedofia Godsway at Glikpome and upon arrest and search, the crush helmet and broken mirrors of the said motorbike was retrieved from suspect’s room.
Suspect during investigation admitted the conspiracy with three accomplices and the final execution of the nefarious plan.
However, the Police is pursuing the three accomplices namely; Robert Sedofia, elder brother of Godsway Sedofia who is also currently keeping custody of the motorbike as well as Seraphim Torgbo and one Junior. Efforts are being made to also recover the motorbike.
Meanwhile, suspect Sedofia Godsway will be arraigned before the court today, 24 December, 2021.
