For the first time in the history of Adaklu Waya E.P. Basic school, the Headmistress and staffs in collaboration with the Local Manager, School Management Committee(SMC) and the P.T.A was able to organise a memorable induction ceremony for the newly elected School Prefects of the school.
As the school is a learning place for children and for their development, the ceremony was organized to instill in learners the importance of good leadership and the qualities good leaders must display.
It is also aimed at motivating students to learn so they can be good leaders in future to transform the world.
The Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Grace S. Amoako congratulated the newly elected prefects and urged them to put up the best behaviours worth emulating by the students body. She also saluted the teachers who took charge of election process.
The Local Manager of E.P. schools in the District, REV. ENK SIPPITEY congratulated the new prefects and wished them well. He appreciate the efforts of the teachers and promised to support them in any way he can. He ended his speech by donating 20 blessed pens to the final year students and urged them to depend on God and what they have learnt alone when they go to the exams hall.
The SMC rep, Mr. Dzah Samuel and the P.T.A rep, Madam Rose Abornu also used the platform to entreat the students to be of good behaviours in the community and the school in order to reduce the teenage pregnancy and wee smoking rate among young students.
Mr. Agbo Maxwell, the chairman who is an old student of the school, in his closing remarks acknowledged the efforts of the teachers in the school and urged the newly elected prefects to work with school management to continue making the school great.
The School Prefect (SP), Kudi Sylvester in his acceptance speech felt honoured to be elected as the SP of this great institution and promised not to abuse the power entrusted to him but work with other Prefects and the School Management to make the school great.
REV. ENK SIPPITEY, brought this memorable and fun-filled program to a successful end with the closing prayer and benediction.
For coming this far, we can say it's the doing of the Lord. For without him this feat wouldn't have been achieved
