KETA-ANLOGA: THE TOURISM MICROCOSM OF GHANA ~ Hon. Joel Degue writes.

Keta-Anloga Area of the Volta Region is one of the most endowed tourist circuits/destinations in Ghana, so far as tourism potentials are concerned.
These potentials can be categorised into natural, cultural, archeological, historical, and ecological.
All these great potentials present unique business and investment opportunities for the entire area, yet, they remain unidentified, undeveloped, unexploited and unmarketed to meet international demands and standards.
All this rich tourism offer (resources/assets) in the form of attractions, activities, accesses, etc. have not been identified, inventoried, interpreted, catalogued, documented and put together into marketable unique offers and experiences to the ever ready and financially prepared millions of domestic and international tourists with budgets that meet their likes, tastes and desires.
This great tourism "gold mine" in Keta-Anloga is awaiting exploration, development and promotion for the socioeconomic development of the area. Over the decades, no specific and strategic efforts have been dispensed by local and civil, administrative authorities of the area to bring these potentials to the standards that will make the area a tourism hub that will benefit from this new soft economy which is tourism.
This is the greatest problem facing the tourism potential development and promotion of the area. There is, therefore, the need to do something about this bane in the Keta-Anloga area.
Please, join me as we all make tourism the next vehicle for the socioeconomic development of Keta-Anloga.
