Ho: GES Cautions Students not to Put Their Hopes on Remedial

The Deputy Director of Education in charge of administration and finance of Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Ho Municipality, Mr. William Godsway Begla, has advised students of the Second cycle school to always sit up to their books to enable them have a good results in their final exams.

Mr. Begla Said this in his good will message delivered on behalf of the Municipal Education Director at the Wallas Academy School’s graduation ceremony held for the 2021 graduating batch of the school in Ho.

He cautioned the students to be very serious whiles in school to learn and pass “once and for all” instead of having their minds on remedial which may not give them any good result at the end.
“I want to implore you to continue learning, do not put your hopes on Remedial classes it won’t help you. Do your best to get your results at once, the cost of education is rising, do not strive in writing your failed papers through the remedial exams in order to make the grades. Do it at once” He Advised.

He therefore tasked the student to abstain from behaviours that destroy their future, instead on things that merit their future development.

In addressing concerns over the challenges facing the world and the country at large, the deputy director challenged the student to take the global trends in technology to explore, in finding solutions to numerous challenges the world is facing.

He entreated the student to see themselves as the generation that will take the technology of today to new and amazing dimensions.

“You are the ones who will bring solutions to environmental concerns, global warming, conservation of natural resources and development of alternative energy sources . Make good use of today for a better future . It does not matter your origin , focus on the destination and continually remind yourself of the need to achieve greater outcomes that are higher than what your parents and teachers have achieved. Make deliberate and enthusiastic efforts to shine wherever you go.” He added

Mr. Begla however, asked Parents to instill discipline in their wards in the homes and to consider it very critical in creating and promoting a society of good moral values.

Mr. Maxwell Wallas Affram the Rector of Wallas Academy, also admonished the students not to consider their current level of the educational ladder as the height of achievement, but to strive to go higher heights so they can feel the self motivation and a happy future.

The Rector appealed to parents and guardians to continue with their self – sacrifices for their wards and the school and their toils would never be in vain .

He is therefore called on the public to always knock at the opened doors of the school for enquires, advises and supports in diverse ways to keep the academic torch of the school burning.

Wallas Academy in this year’s West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination presented a total of One Hundred and Sixty Seven (167 ) students comprising Seventy five (75) boys and Ninety Two (92) girls.

Considering the previous outcomes, Mr. Afram is confident the school will receive another appreciable results to their credit.
