Facts about Ayizo People of Benin Republic .


Ayizo People can be found in Benin Republic and they are part of the Gbe Speaking people . They are related to the Adja , Ewe , Fon and Toli people , Ayizo People are also known as Kotafon, Ko , Kogbe or Gbesi People . They grow crops such as cassava , millet , okra, tomatoes, pumpkin, peppers , onions , carrots , beans and coconut .  
Traditionally , Ayizo People produced palm wine while miller beer is brewed and consumed , Kotafon area is located to the northwest of Ayizo- Kogbe area respondents in Kpodji- Denou , Ayizo Seto are said that Kotafon , Tori and Seto are similar , and that they use Ayizo- Seto and the Saxwe area is located to the west and southwest of the Ayizo area , to the west of the Kouffo river while Ayizo area is located to the east of the river . Toli Speakers live in the north of Porto Novo and It is believe they have connection between King of Porto Novo and Allada region . 
 Ayizo People of Benin Republic , speak a tonal language , the same word can have a variety of meanings depending on the pitch of the word , the Fon language , the word “yi” pitched high means to receive .  
Ayizogbe is one of the language of the Gbe Speaking People or Subgroup . Ayizo is a Fon word given by Fon of Abomey for the Southern populations conquered by from 1924 and 1927 , far away from the center of culture and civilization what was the plateau of Abomey and Ayizo People of the plateau of Allada , Toli which was located between Ouidah and Abomey . It is believed Ayizogbe language is written in different ways and different spelling using latin alphabet a standardized orthography rule .
 Ayizo is closely related to Ewe , Fon and Adja language and According to other accounts on Ayizo People of Benin, Ayizo are also known as Aizo , that Torri is more commonly spelt Tori , and that Tori is a shortened form of Ayizo, Tori , a dialect of Ayizo language .  
The Ayizo have a population of around 328,000 People and live mostly in the Mono and Atlantique provinces located in Southern Benin centred around the city of Allada which is considered to be a historical Capital of Ajaland before the fall of the armies and King of Dahomey Present day Benin .
