Wednesday, September 15, 2021
Chairman of the Volta Regional Football Association, Daniel Agbogah says, the executive committee will meet with the management of Akatsi All Stars to discuss plans towards the sustenance of the team in their division one campaign.
Akatsi All Stars at the Ho Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 12, 20212, defeated Ho based Home Stars 3-1 on penalties in the finals of the regional division 2 middle league to gain promotion to play in the 2021/2022 division one league season.
The likes of Hostel Fc, Kadjebi Great Warriors, Roberto Fc, and Dynamo Fc have all returned to the division 2 league after a season in the National division 1 league. Recently Agbozume Weavers, having enjoyed more than a season but without promotion or demotion in Ghana football due to; first Anas' expose and Covid-19, got relegated from zone 3.
There have been questions on why Clubs from the region always go and return but Daniel Agbogah who was speaking to Ex TV after Akatsi All Stars victory on Sunday says, Ghana will hear of Volta Region in this beginning of a new era.
“I keep saying we can do it. That is my believe, that our region will get to the top. It is the beginning of a new era. We have a long way to go and I believe we can improve on this and Ghana will hear of Volta Region. I want to appreciate all stakeholders.”
“The sustenance of this team starts from now. We are already caught up by time, so we are meeting the management of Akatsi All Stars so we can discuss the plans towards division one within this week. We can quickly register quality players for them and see how we can put all structures in place and ensure we have successful division 1 season without coming back.”
With a record of 9 wins, 2 loses and 6 draws; conceding 7 goals and scoring 20, Akatsi All Stars will be facing an uphill task in Ghana’s second-tier next season, playing the likes of Liberty professionals, Inter Allies, Heart of Lions, among other notable Clubs.
