The Biography of the Afro Mexican Maroon El Yanga also known as Gaspar Yanga and his Significant role in Mexico, North America During Slave Trade who fought against the Spanish .
Gaspar Yanga also known as El Yanga was born in 1545 in What is now modern day Gabon he was from a royal family in Gabon he traced both lineages to a Traditional rulers from his family who ruled and during Slavery era he was Abolitionist and rebel against the Spanish.
He was captured and enslaved who was brought to Mexico he worked on a Sugar Cane plantation near Veracruz, Mexico.
Veracruz is where Gaspar Yanga rebelled in 1570 he and other blacks brought from West Africa and Angola fought for liberation or freedom in 1609, Gaspar Yanga and Francisco de la Mantosa from Present day Angola formed allies together and worked together as a team and defend the Spanish agression later the Spanish rejected his terms.
Gaspar Yanga was a very brave and Strong warrior around the late centuries a Statue was build for his memory and a sign to honor his legacy and Others believed he might be a member of either the Mitsogo or Ateke tribe of Gabon.
