Ho West: BaSAQ-C 202, 4 schools qualifies for the finals.

Four schools  in the Ho West Municipality have qualified for the finals of this year's Basic Schools' Annual Quiz Competition.

Following the commencement of the 7th edition of the Ho West Basic Schools' Annual Quiz Competition (BaSAQ-C) on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, with 73 Junior High Schools at 17 selected centres across the district, 40 Schools qualified to the second level of the competition. 

The 40 qualified schools placed in groups of 5 competed at 8 selected centres on August 24, 2021 with 16 qualifying to Quarter Final which was held at 4 centres on August 27, 2021. 

The Semi Finals of the competition had 8 schools in groups of 2 competing from 4 centres and was held on 2nd September, 2021. The winners from the centres are expected to compete for the 1st place at the grand finale scheduled to take place at Anyirawase E.P. Chapel on Friday September 10, 2021. The schools that made it to the finals are Daffor D/A JHS, Tsito Old JHS, Saviefe Agorkpo JHS and Kpedze Awlime RC JHS

The qualified schools are highly motivated and ready to outperform one another to become the ultimate winners of the 2021 competition.

BaSAQ-C is meant to bring about competition among Junior High Schools in the district, to contribute to improvement in Basic Education Certificate Examination and to motivate students to study hard at all times to make Ho West one of the best performing districts in BECE. The theme for the ceremony is “Teacher commitment, a panacea to weak academic performance”.
