The First Luba who became King in La paz from Present day Dr. Congo his Royal Majesty Uchicho Piendo in Bolivia.
The hacienda of Mururata maintained rey negro and the first Black King who was of Congolese Ancestry and a King from Present day Dr. Congo called his Royal majesty Uchicho Piendo brought to Bolivia around the 1800s others also give an account that he spoke Luba and Spanish languages and he taught Afro- Bolivians how to keep their Culture and never forget their roots due to this statement most of them are proudly Children of Maama Africa, King Uchicho Piendo l during some festivals he performed a dance called Zemba and through his bloodline his descendants ruled the town La Paz even his great- great- grandchildren ruled, the last Black King Bonifacio Julio Piendo ruled and died in 1960s later his bloodline his grandson called Don Juilo Piendo still reign up till now according some to other accounts , he was rather brought in the 1600s not 1800s.
During the Struggle of Bolivia's Independence from 1809- 1895 they fought and gathered an army of Royalists requested and send by Spanish , Afro- Bolivians fought and conquered Spain and gained Independence for Bolivia also saved the Virgen de la Candelaria, 20th October is the day they remember that day and Virgen de la Candelaria sung songs in Spanish which is Saya traditional music and Afro- Bolivians sing Spanish which is Saya traditional music and Afro- Bolivians sing and dance to the beats of the Conga and drums .
The Enstoolment Ceremony of
Don Juilo Piendo was held in 2007 he still wear his red cape with golden embroidery and crown which he wear for local La Paz festivals and During Ganyingo Ceremony they play drums and Conga, also sing songs. In the late 1900s the Rastafari movement in Bolivia they had a designed flag with red, gold and green colors some who believed to have Ethiopian roots put on the Star of David on their neck as necklace and used instruments such as Drums, Guiros, Marcas.
