Volta: NPP Chairman's Gas Station robbed, Security Murdered.

Residents of Tegbi – Xekpa, a community in the Anloga District of the Volta are thrown to a state of shocked and distressed over a robbery incident which is suspected to have happened in the early hours of Monday,9th August 2021.
The robbery incident left the security guard dead in cold blood with his mouth and arms tied with pieces of cloth.
The security guard who is identified as a 53 year old Edem Kpodogah, till his demise serves as a security officer at the Royal Gas Filling Station which belongs to Hon. Makafui Woanyah, Volta Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Narrating the incident to Sandcity radio’s Kekeli Blamey, the Manager of the gas filling station Mr. Innocent Kwasi Havor said one of his workers (name withheld) who reported to work yesterday early at about 6:10 am, noticed that all doors of the station’s building were forced open.
“My worker got furious and decided to check on the security guard in his room only to find out that there were blood stains on the floor but the security man was not there. He went on to check the room where our vault was only to realize that it’s nowhere to be found. That was when he called me to report that the station was robbed. They took all the money, and killed my worker”. He lamented.
Mr. Havor further indicated that he decided to check around the station upon arrival, only to find out that the security guard was allegedly murdered and dumped at the back of the filling station.
However, Sandcity Radio gathered from police officers who were at the scene that the deceased might have been hit on the head with some objects.
Speaking to the District Commander of Police C/SUPT Jordan Quaye, he assured the public of swift investigations into the incident, adding that the perpetrators will be brought to book in due time.
“Police personnel from the regional headquarters, Ho have teamed up with us in the Keta District command and we will do every possible investigation to arrest the perpetrators of this crime. So I urge everybody to be calm”. He stated.
The police said they will reward anyone who will give them credible information, leading to the arrest of those who commited the crime with an amount of Ghc 30,000.00.
However, the body of the deceased was deposited at the Keta Municipal Hospital morgue pending an autopsy.
