EPUC SRC Elections: EC Chair assures students of free and fair elections.


Chairman of the Students' Representative Council, (SRC) Electoral Commission, of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College (EPUC) - Ho, Desmond Quarshie, is assuring students of incident free, free, fair and transparent elections on Saturday August 21, 2021.

Close to a thousand students of the university are to cast their vote to elect new officers for the 2021/2022 academic year.

Eleven candidates have filed to contest for seven portfolios. 

These include the office of the President, Treasurer, Women Commissioner, Local PUSAG President, Sports Secretary and Public Relations.

There are four presidential aspirants, two WOCOM aspirants and two PRO aspirants.

However, the secretary position is still vacant.

Three offices including that of the Treasurer, Sports Secretary and PUSAG are going unopposed.

Speaking ahead of Friday's Manifesto reading and Saturday's election, Mr. Quarishie tells CBC, that every logistics meant to run a very credible election has been provided for a smooth exercise. 

"We at the electoral commission are very prepared with the necessary tools and materials to run 2021 election with the Ghana police service to maintain and ensure peace and order."

All COVID-19 protocols shall be observed.
