Acting IGP and Some POMAB Members Tour Bono East Region


As part of efforts to check and minimize the crime rate in the country, the Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and some members of the Police Management Broad (POMAB) have started a tour of all the 18 Police regions starting from the Bono East Region on Monday 23rd August, 2021 to ascertain and get a firsthand information of crime situation in the region.
The Techiman District Police Command was the first stop for the IGP and his team. There, the team, led by the IGP, appreciated the personnel serving under the command for the good work they have been doing as Police officers and keeping the region safe and secured. He then engaged them on crime situation in the region and the way forward. Ag. IGP in turn assured personnel of maximum support by the Police Administration in their area of need.

Police Stations under the Bono East Regional Police command visited by the IGP and his team included Nsutam Police Station, Techiman Police Station, Tuobodom Police Station, Kintampo and Subinsu No. 2 and New Longoro Police Stations. 
The team traveled all night to observe and monitor activities on the section of the N12 highway between New Longoro, Wenchi and Techiman. 
During the monitoring, the team stopped at every Police barrier to congratulate and encourage the officers on night duties and assured them of the Administration’s support at all times. Some of the barriers were Subinso No.2, Nkonsia, and Kenten.
At the Techiman district, the IGP used the opportunity to interact and thank personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Immigration Service for their services to God and country. 
The team also visited four (4) other Police officers who are bed ridden as a result of injuries they sustained in line of their duties.
As part of the visit, the team paid a courtesy call on the Bono East Regional Minster, Hon. Kwasi Adu-Gyan, and the chief of Techiman Traditional Area, Oseadeyor Ameyaw Akumfi IV and some chiefs of the Kintampo Traditional Council. At both meetings, security related issues were discussed and ideas were shared on ways to curb crime rate in the region.
The entourage included Commissioner of Police Mr. Paul Manly Awini - Director-General(D-G) Research and Planning, DCOP Habiba Twumasi-Sarpong - D-G Welfare, DCOP Mr. Enoch Adutwum Bediako - D-G Services, DCOP Mr. Moses Asabagna Atibilla - Bono East Regional Commander, Mr. Kwesi Arhin – Director Operations and some senior police officers from the region.
