Central: MAN 58, MURDERED BY SON.

A 58-year-old man has been stabbed to death allegedly by his son.

The sad incident occured when the father send him (son) to a psychiatrist hospital for check up.

The victim, Peter Yaayi popularly known as Akwasi Dagaati, was stabbed multiple times by his 19-year-old son Philip Yaayi.

The incident took place yesterday at Assin Manso in the Assin South District of Central Region , after the son allegedly told people he will kill his father.

The man sustained multipled stab wounds on his chest and  was confirmed dead at the spot after the incident.

However, an eyewitness report stated that, the man was stabbed over thirty wounds in the chest.

During inquiry, it was revealed that a quarrel broke out between Peter and his son, Philip , who accused his father for sending him to a psychiatrist hospital at Cape Coast without his notice .

According to sources indicated that, the suspect Philip told people in the community that he will kill his father because what his father did by sending him to a psychiatrist hospital for check up was unpardonable because his father should've told him earlier before.

Before the incident happened he (Philip) demanded money from his Dad and the gave him the money , after giving him the money he (Peter) the victim went to grind maize at the corn mill because he was a corn mill operator all what he could realized is his 19 year son came only to stab him multiple times with kitchen knife till he died.

After the incident which occurred around 3pm - 5pm yesterday, he reported to Police that he have killed his father .

Philip is now aiding Police to investigates into what happened.

They body have been conveyed and deposited at Assin Manso Hospital for autopsy.
