Oti: Regional Minister sends Message to shortlisted candidates for MDCE Positions.
Monday, June 21, 2021
I write to congratulate all shortlisted candidates for the MMDCE positions in the Oti Region for going through the vetting successfully, at the Jubilee House on Wednesday June 16, 2021.
Be reminded that you were selected among other equally capable men and women after the regional vetting. Those who were not selected have not burnt party offices, they have not run to media houses all in the interest of the party. Truth be told, some of you went through the process at the regional level with ease but in a very competitive race. Others also struggled to make it through to the national level.
However, your chances of being selected, are equally likely as any other person who appeared before the panel in Accra.
The composition of the panel in Accra shows clearly that, nothing but party interest will inform your selection to the office of the president and eventually MDCE nominees.
Irrespective of who is eventually selected, let's embrace the nominees and work together to ensure their confirmation. Four years ago, I went through a similar process and at a point, I was virtually dragged out of the conference room at Kekeli Hotel by the then acting regional chairperson, Esther Edjeani. This occurred in the presence of people who were not even constituency officers at the time it happened when I was a regional officer.
It will interest you know that I continuously confided in Madam Edjeani after the process and she is still someone I speak to from time to time.
I am a Regional Minister today because, the party did not break over my non-selection and most importantly I never laid down my tools but fought for a victorious 2020 for my party.
Nothing is going to happen in this selection process which will be something we have never seen. Trust the process, accept the outcome and secure your future no matter what.
I wish you all the very best. Thank you all.
