Volta: LET'S SUPPORT COMMUNITY DEVELOPEMENT - MR FELIX AKONTA AKAKPO

A philanthropist and a native of Wute ,  Mr Felix Akonta Akakpo has called on all citizens both home and abroad to always support the development of their communities. This he said  when done by indigenes would take away the burden on government.

At a function to commission a Maternal and Child Health Unit of the Lente Wute Health Centre,  Mr Akonta who solely funded the project said he came to an annual festival when he made the promise to build the facility since access to health care was a major problem.

Mr Joseph Degley, the Municipal Health Director - Ketu South in his speech noted that the community has been calling on his office to upgrade the facility from a CHIP compound to a clinic in the community. He also gave assurance that two nurses would be posted soon to join the current one to aid work.

Representing the Volta Regional Health Directorate is Mr. Robert Adatsi who  in his speech expressed his gratitude to Mr Felix for helping the government. He commended him for his selflessness and kindness.  Touching on the request by the community to upgrade the facility he said " a lot of things are considered before upgrading a Chip compound to polyclinic. There are other logistics considered".

He therefore advised members of the community to patronise the facility  as further deliberations are held.
As part of supporting the project, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ketu South, Hon. Elliot Agbenorwu has donated 3 hospital beds , 2 boxes of street lights and 2 boxes of bulbs.

Lente- Wute community in Aflao is having the most vibrant Men and Mother Support group in the municipality.
