Election 2020: Amewu Won’t Get More than 12K Votes in Hohoe – NDC Candidate

Professor Margaret Kweku, the NDC parliamentary candidate for Hohoe has downplayed the chances of her main opponent from the governing  NPP, John-Peter Amewu in the upcoming December 7 elections.

She said, assertions that the Energy Minister would pull a surprise in the parliamentary polls and win the seat for the NPP, was nothing but mere assumptions.

Speaking on Citi TV’s #PointofView show  Monday night and monitored by Volta Online, the former Hohoe MCE said her contender would not get more than 12,000 votes at polls, despite his aggressive use of government resources to swayed voters.

“Amewu got 8,200 votes in 2008 and he will get 12,000 this time, that is if  I  want to be kind  him,” she asserted.
Prof. Kweku further stated that, ongoing projects in the area which were being credited to the Minister, were assembly projects that he has forcibly appropriated to himself just to gain political advantage in the Constituency.

That notwithstanding, she noted, the NDC had a superior performance track record in the area under her tenure as MCE and that of the current MP, for which the constituents reward the party, come December 7.

This is Mr. Amewu’s third attempt at annexing the Hohoe seat from the NDC, which has Prof.  Margaret Kweku as its new candidate.
