V/R: 45 years old man in Police Custody for defiling an 8 years old girl.

A 45 years old man by the name Ibrahim has admitted he defiled eight year old girl who went to buy porridge but says it was not intentional. The assembly member for Duta Electoral Area told *HolyFm News Reporter,Sylvia Awuye* in an interview.
The incident happened in Gakli a community Duta Electoral Area, Ketu South.
The eight year old girl, name withheld, was sent to hospital and all the necessary tests were conducted.
It has been confirmed that the hymen of the girl has been broken.
Most of the community members who spoke to this reporter says they have no trust for the police and the judicial system in dealing with issues of rape and defilement.
According to them, this is the third time this year defilement cases have occurred and in all the two instances, monies had exchanged hands with innocent victims left with the scar forever.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim is currently in police custody at Aflao District Command.
