SUPER COMMERCIAL CONSUMERS TO PAY WATER BILL AMID COVID:- PRO GWCL VOLTA

The president of the Republic Nana Addo  has said in a statement that as a relief to Ghanaians in this times of COVID 19 pandemic, government will absorb the WATER BILLS of citizens from April to June.
All things being equal, citizens have been demanding from producers of sachet waters to make a reduction in the prices of sachet waters hence their purchases.
In other way round the Chair man of sachet water producers in the Anloga  District of the Volta region, CEO of Destiny Stores and Majet Drinking Water, Entrepreneur Destiny Thompson Teku said in an interview with Jubilee Radio Business news anchor Rebecca Ocloo-Akorli on the 20th of April 2020 that, "as the president says the sachet water producer who fall under super commercial consumers of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has not receive any information from the stake holders or the GWCL."
Therefore their bill settlement remains per their unit(s) consumption with no difference.
Speaking with the Volta Regional Public Relations Officer of the GWCL Mr. Chris Akutey, he explained that there are three categories of consumers in the GWCL structure which are the Domestic consumers, the commercial/standpipe consumers(set up by GWCL in communities) and the super commercial consumers.
With the government's absorption of water bills, domestic and commercial/standpipe consumers but super commercial consumers will be part.
He indicates that standpipe/commercial consumer will have some modalities in order to benefit some commission, for this reason pipe owners have  to allow neighbours to draw water without payment.
Whereas super commercial consumers payment remains as it were.
