I'M PREPARED TO SUPPORT FRONTLINE WORKERS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CONVID-19 PANDEMIC- MP

Member of Parliament for The South Tongu Constituency, Hon. Korbla Mensah Woyome has pledged his continue support to protect front line workers who are championing the fight against Coronavirus also known as CONVID-19 pandemic in his constituency so that they can be well-equipped to handle the situation without contracting the disease.


According to the MP, last two weeks he delivered some number of Protection Personal Equipments (PPEs) to the front line workers but has realized it wasn't enough so there's the need to do even more to encourage them also to do more so that they can be able to fight off the coronavirus. 


Hon. Woyome disclosed this at a donation ceremony to further equip the front line workers under his jurisdiction over the weekend.

"I think we need to do more to be able to give more so that we can let our people feel encouraged to stop the spread of the disease so that we can start our normal lives again,” he added.


The items, and equipment which costs an amount of Ghc 120,000 included, 6 gun thermometers, 80pieces of veronica buckets, hand gloves, liquid soap, tissues, face masks and hand sanitizers. And the Institutions that benefited from the donation was; South Tongu Health Directorate, Ghana Immigration Services, Customers Division,  Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Police Service, Comboni Technical Vocational Institute (COMBOTECH), Sogakope Senior High School (SOGASCO), Dabala Senior High Technical School (DASTECH), ST. Catherine Senior High School (SCASCO), Agave Traditional area, Tefle Traditional area, Vume Traditional area, Sokpoe Traditional area and Fievie Traditional area.

Madam Mavis Agumeh, South Tongu District Director of Health Services (DDHS) who received the items on behalf of her colleagues said the items would go a long way to help them in the fight against CONVID-19 pandemic.


 She noted that they will continue to do their best to help stop the spread of the disease.
