VR: Ketu South Mun. Assembly educates people on COVID-19.

The Ketu South Municipal Assembly led by their Honourable Chief Executive Me Elliot Agbenorwu embarks on sensitisation activities in the municipality on the novel coronavirus. The schedules that kicked of from Monday 16th of March is expected to give proper education on the pandemic and the ways to prevent it.
Below are the outlines.

On Monday 16th March, 2020 I met with the Public Health Emergency Management Committee (PHEMC)  on the preparedness to contain the Corona virus being a Border Municipality.

Later in the day, some members of the Public Health Emergency Management Committee (PHEMC) met with members of the local Christian leaders (council of churches) and Moslem leaders to officially communicate the directive of H.E. the President and deliberate on its enforcement.

After that letters were sent to traditional authorities to inform them of the President’s directives.

On Tuesday 17th March, 2020, the traditional authorities were on our local radio stations to enforce the directives.

A task force was formed comprising BNI and some security officers to enforce the directives in the Municipality

On Wednesday 18th March, 2020 I joined the Municipal health directorates and the security services in DENU market (the largest market in the municipality) to create awareness on the existence, precaution and the President’s directive regarding the novel corona virus disease or COVID 19.

Early in the day, I was on victory FM together with the health promotion officers to educate and create awareness.

Some Veronica buckets together with sanitizers were procured and delivered to stores today and will be distributed to some vantage points and some public institutions in the Municipality to help maintain the culture of hand washing.

May God see us through. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
