Monday, March 16, 2020
Three (3) more suspects have been arrested at Kasoa in the Central Region in connection with the murder of the Assemblyman for Sogakope Electoral area Mr. Mawutor Adzahli.
Suspects Bright Awuya, Franklin Teteh and Ansong Stephen who are believed to be involved in the murder of the Assemblyman at Sogakope were arrested at Obom, Kasoa in their hide out.
Meanwhile the Sogakope Police Command has been informed accordingly while the suspects are in Police custody assisting with investigations.
It would be recalled that a fortnight ago, about eight (8) armed men at dawn laid siege and broke into the residence of Mr. Mawutor Adzahli where he was attacked and gruesomely murdered after taking money and other valuables from him.
According to reports, the criminals used cement blocks and broke down his bulletproof and burglary proof doors, entered his home, and shot him several times; dismembering his body in gory fashion and of course killing him.
Literally all his neighbors were awoken by the loud gun shots at his residence but were scared and defenseless to the extent of not being able to do anything. One of the assailants was reported to be wearing a mask.
All the rest were bare-faced but no one was close enough to provide further witness accounts per my checks. However, the police are in on the incident.
Police initially arrested three persons but have been able to arrest another group of persons believed to be linked to the crime that occurred in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region.
