Blood Pressure Killing Many Teachers – GNAT

Blood pressure has been identified as the cause of death of many teachers in the Adansi-Akrokeri Circuit in the Obuasi Municipality in the Ashanti region.
This came to light during a health screening exercise organised by the Akrokeri Zonal GNAT secretariat for teachers in the area.
According to the Akrokerri Zonal Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Mr Charles Kwabena Amponsah, the rate at which teachers are dying in the area has become a concern for his outfit.
He revealed that the spate of deaths in recent times raises serious health concern hence the decision to organise a health screening exercise for the teachers.
“Of late more teachers are passing on in the Akrokerri Circuit due to high blood pressure and other health issues.”
