Controversial gospel musician, Brother Sammy, has confessed to lying about how God revealed to him, a spiritual concoction capable of curing HIV/AIDS patients. He made this shocking revelation in an interview with a local based radio station in Accra.
Early this year, Bro Sammy was seen advertising a medicine which he labeled “divine healing water” on social media. According to him, the medicine was revealed to him by God to help cure chronic diseases Asthma, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis B, Diabetes, Cancer and even HIV/AIDS.
But the popular gospel musician has backtracked on his claims, ABC News can confirm.
He says the ‘spiritual water’ he spoke about is produced by his grandparent and not by him, on the instructions of God, as he had earlier proclaimed.
“The truth is that my grandparent does the medicine and he is too old and can die at any moment. It is something that he does to help others. I intended to help her with the work before she dies.
“It was a mistake on my part for not telling the truth that the medicine belongs to my grandfather but rather saying it was from God who revealed it to me. I lied to Ghanaians.
The gospel musician also pleaded with the Foods and Drugs Authority (FDA) to forgive him for claiming to have discovered a cure for a number of diseases including HIV, asthma, gonorrhea, Hepatitis B, cancer and diabetes.
didn’t know the right way. I beg the FDA. They should forgive me. God never gave me that medicine; I lied,” he said.”
In June, The FDA with assistance from the Ashanti Regional Police arrested the gospel musician to conduct investigations after he was seen in a series of videos advertising a medicine he labeled ‘divine healing water’.
The FDA hinted that brother Sammy could be sentenced to a minimum of 15 years in prison for flouting the Public Health Act 851 if found guilty.
Brother Sammy further debunked claims that he holds grudges with fellow gospel artiste, Cecilia Marfo.
According to him, he has a good relationship with her despite their clash at a conference in Kumasi last year.
“If i meet Cecilia Marfo today, I will greet her,” he stated.
